ScotDance Canada was formed in July 1987 in Regina, Saskatchewan and is an Affiliated Member of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (S.O.B.H.D.) and has acted as the Registration Agent for Canadian dancers and competition organizers participating in the Worldwide Registration System. The Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (SOBHD) was formed in 1950 as a supervisory Board, comprising of delegates from the many different organisations involved in Highland Dance, which could lay down quality standards, such as dress code, and to bring about co-operation between recognised associations, organisations, individuals and dancers connected with Highland Dancing.

The B.C. Highland Dancing Association (BCHDA) has continuously sponsored and promoted Scottish dancing events in British Columbia for over 70 years. Originally established in 1934 to foster the traditional dance culture of Scotland, it presently embraces the traditions of this dance form and encourages participation in it by children and adults of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

The Interior Highland Dance Association (IHDA) was established in 1975 and is comprised of members from five interior cities, Penticton, Kelowna, Vernon / Salmon-Arm, Kamloops and Revelstoke as a non-profit society to promote and conduct Highland dancing, games and competitions.

Sons of Scotland is a fraternal association for Scottish people and their decendants seeking to preserve and promote Scottish heritage and culture in Canada, by keeping alive the great traditions of history, literature and the music of Scotland.
